Robotics and Automation Sandwich Program
CPAT-TVS offers a 3½-year Sandwich Program in Robotics and Automation Engineering.
A robotics and automation engineer will have the skills and knowledge needed to work as an automation technician, control systems engineer or technician, robotics engineer or technician. They will be able to design, program, and maintain industrial automation systems, and optimize these processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
CPAT-TVS offers a 3½-year Sandwich Program in Robotics and Automation Engineering.
Robotics and Automation Engineering is an independent branch of engineering dealing with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots coupled with computer-based control systems for the production of goods and services.
This program introduces students to the design of Robotic systems for digital manufacturing. It provides a solid foundation in the fundamentals of engineering mechanics, electrical systems, electronics, sensors, and computer programming, to enable students to acquire the necessary attributes to become technically proficient in this new dynamic field.
Students get to study under experienced faculty members, factory supervisors, and managers.
This program prepares students for a diverse array of employment opportunities and to pursue further education.
Courses in Robotics and Automation Engineering include Electrical and Electronic Circuits, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Design, Industrial Robotics, Fluid Power Automation, Industrial Instrumentation, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Embedded Systems, Advanced Automation, and Industrial Internet of Things.
During the 4th and 7th semesters, students undergo in-plant training in state-of-the-art industries where they receive hands-on experience with GPMs, CNC Machines, Robots, CAD/CAM, Electro-Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Electrical Drives, Sensor Testing & Trouble Shooting, PLC, HMI, Industrial communications, Advanced Microcontrollers and Computing Systems.
The students
